Some personal notes, What's Coming Next, and a Cover Reveal!

If you ever see me without several projects going at once, I'm probably nursing the muse back to health after he's been through some things lol Usually one too many projects and not enough rest!

2023 kicked my ass, and things had been rough for a while. I was handling a lot on my own and it wasn't until I got a few things off my plate that I remembered who I am and what I'm capable of. Like most authors, I've had my fair share of crappy jobs, I've tried out different things, but I always come back to needing to write like my life depends on it. Because it does.

Giving voice to so many different characters, building worlds, exploring love and friendship and found family is at the core of every story I write. I love sharing these stories with readers, but as I've said before, staying true to the story always comes first. If I feel I can't give a story my all, I'd rather shelve it for the moment and come back to it when I'm in a better place to do just that.

Which is exactly why some of the books I'm working on now ended up gathering dust. I started off super excited about them, but life tripped me up, I got overwhelmed, and I refused to spread myself too thin and give less than my best.

But now that one series is over, I'm living somewhere where I don't have to do everything on my own, that excitement, that spark, is back.

And those stories that deserved my full attention have got it.

One of those stories is an urban-fantasy-slash-monster-romance. It's a HUGE project, with a massive cast of characters, and the ideas flow so fast I actually have to keep a notebook by my bed to jot things down when they won't let me sleep. Which hasn't happened since I was writing The Cobras—which I'm also working on, but more on that later.

I actually started this book...about two years ago I think? If not longer? I underestimated how big it would be and the characters didn't have room to grow with everything else I had going on. They couldn't speak loud enough to be heard over all the noise. But now that they can?

 We're on a roll, baby! <g>

Without further ado, here is the revamped cover for No Escape (Redemption's End Book One). Unlike the original version, it's not hiding what it is. And future covers will follow the same vein, with every beast and tricky fae and demon—with and without tentacles—getting their moment in the spotlight.

 Here's the blurb:

One chance.

One mistake.

And Axton Hawthorn’s already reached his limit. As a courtless shadow fae on his own, with only his skills as a thief to keep him alive, Axton has nothing to fight for besides his freedom.

Until he’s imprisoned for his crimes, then has his prison break foiled by an order of supernaturals who keep exposure from humans to a minimum—or something like that. He wasn’t really paying attention until the last part. His choices are simple.

Join them or die.

Yeah...he’ll look for another option until they give him a damn good reason not to.

Edric ‘King’ Kingston should never have been allowed into the High Guard in The Géillsin. Hellhounds are meant to be chained in the apocalyptic demon realm, not secretly protecting the human one as a high ranking soldier. Leading reluctant young law breakers and teaching them to use their skills for the good of their kind isn’t what he would’ve signed up for, but it’s all he has left to give to prove he’s not the cursed creature he was born as.

He owes his life to one man. To a moment when someone saw more in him. The only way to pay that debt is to make sure the man’s son survives.

Falling for Axton would be a very bad idea. He’s reckless and defiant. Forces the order to make new rules he can’t work his way around. But Edric can’t look away from the trainwreck he’s brought to the doorstep of the place that represents everything he believes in.

And hope Axton’s presence will even their odds against forces threatening to destroy everything they’ve built.

While the man he can’t stay away from seems determined to watch it burn.

Keep an eye on this space for more news about the release date. Until then, if you want a taste of this story, you can read the FIRST FIVE chapters on Radish for FREE.

Now, for those who need to know what's happening with the Cobras—and hey, thanks for reading all the way through!—no worries. Our guys have been talking to me, too. Thus the whole 'several projects going' thing I mentioned lol

White, Pisch, and Justina's novella is coming out soon, and after that we have a novella for Sloan, Max, and Oriana. Then there will be the last full length book in the Cobra series.

But it will NOT be the last we see of our team, because I have several spinoffs planned. There's still so much story to be told with all these beloved characters and I'm nowhere near ready to say goodbye to any of them.

So now you're all caught up! I'm not gonna promise a whole lot of blog posts, because working on all this is gonna take up every spare minute, but if you're in my group or discord, you'll get to follow along with all my crazy. Please don't be shy to give me a shout out and I'd love to hear what you're most excited about!

Also, if you get a chance to comment on Radish chapters, or leave reviews on Amazon, Kobo, or wherever you read my books, it would be greatly appreciated. It helps keep my stuff from getting buried and it means more than I can say.

I hope you're having an amazing week and finding tons of books to fall in love with! If you're into truly dark books (all the trigger warnings!) check out the Fallocaust Series by Quil Carter. Right now, I've just finished a reread of that series and I'm on to Scum (Wrong Side of the Tracks Book One) by K.A. Merika. Still edgy, but light enough to be a break from the epic depravity that is the Fallocaust.

But mostly I'm writing all the words and I'm so freakin' excited to have something new to share with you!

Happy Reading!
